Trans woman Avanthika alleges Rahul Mamkootathil wanted to 'rape' her, claims he called her multiple times

Amid allegations of sexting and obscene behaviour against Rahul Mamkootathil, the Congress MLA from Palakkad, now a trans woman identified as Avanthika has also levelled allegations against the politician.

In multiple interviews with various Malayalam news channels, the trans woman claimed that Rahul first contacted her on Messenger and obtained phone number from her. She claimed that after getting her number, he messaged her on Telegram and chats would disappear after it is read. She alleged that Rahul messaged her, saying he wanted to 'rape' her and asked her to meet him in Bengaluru or Hyderabad. 

Amid the allegations, Rahul has resigned from the post of state Youth Congress president but he denied any wrongdoing on his part.

Honey Bhaskaran's allegations

This comes after Malayalam writer Honey Bhaskaran alleged that Rahul initiated a conversation with her on Instagram but later made derogatory remarks about her to his peers, telling them that it was she who messaged him first and twisted their conversation in lewd ways.

Calling it a psychological perversion, Honey alleged that after chatting with women, Rahul would demean them in front of his colleagues and tell them sexually coloured stories about the victims.

Honey claimed that Rahul has approached many of her friends, adding that they will also file complaints soon. "He tells every woman that she is the only one he loves, while saying the same to others. Some of my friends have experienced it themselves," she claimed.

Rini Ann George's allegations

Earlier in the day, Malayalam actor Rini Ann George, known for her role in 916 Kunjoottan, also alleged that a young politician sexted her but she refused reveal the name of the person. The actor said she came forward after discoverin that other women have also faced harassment from the same politician.

Rini alleged that the politician first messaged her inappropriately three years ago and invited her to a location, asking her to spend time with him. She threatened to file a complaint against him but the politician allegedly had a "who cares" attitide and dare her to go ahead.

After Rini's allegations, Rahul claimed that the actress was not referring to him and has not revealed the identity of the accused.
