Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, two former prime ministers, sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the nation. To secure the country's borders, Indian Army soldiers have shed their blood. The valour displayed during Operation Sindoor is being lauded by all Indians, yet questions remain unanswered—who is Donald Trump to suddenly declare a ceasefire? Why is the Central government not responding to this entire chain of events? These questions were raised by Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Harshvardhan Sapkal.
Under his leadership, a grand tractor rally and Tiranga march were organised in Amravati on Wednesday. Speaking at the event, Harshvardhan Sapkal said, “Today, one eye smiles while the other sheds a tear. We’re proud of the soldiers who taught Pakistan a lesson with their supreme courage, but here, our farmers are in deep crisis. The government is turning a blind eye. The agriculture minister insults farmers by calling them beggars. Due to the Centre’s anti-farmer policies, the price of tur has dropped from ₹12,000 to ₹6,000. While farmers were bringing their produce to the market, the BJP-led central government imported tur, causing prices to crash. Soybean prices haven't crossed ₹4,000. Crops are not getting fair prices. Farmers are unable to get crop loans and are forced to turn to moneylenders. The blame for this situation lies with Devendra Fadnavis’ authoritarian government.”
Sapkal expressed hope that the tractor rally would awaken the blind and deaf government. “If the government continues to ignore the plight of farmers, fails to waive their loans, and doesn’t ensure fair prices for farm produce, our agitation will intensify further. The consequences will be the government’s responsibility,” he warned.

AICC secretary and state co-in-charge Kunal Choudhary and former minister Yashomati Thakur also launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party governments at the Centre and in the state during the rally. They demanded a complete farm loan waiver and raised slogans like ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.
Tiranga Yatra
On behalf of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, Tiranga yatras were held across the state on Wednesday, saluting the brave soldiers of Operation Sindoor. Inspired by the theme "Zara Yaad Karo Qurbani", these rallies saw large participation from Congress leaders, office-bearers, workers and citizens.
