Six people died and several others were injured after a huge tree got uprooted and fell on vehicles parked on the road in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.

The mishap took place near Gurudwara Manikarn Sahib when the tree on a mountain got uprooted after storm and landslide.

Medical teams, police and revenue officials are present at the spot and a rescue and relief operation is currently underway.

Those injured have been shifted to Jari Hospital for treatment.

 "This incident took place near Manikaran Gurudwara where a tree uprooted. Bodies are being brought to the hospital, and the four injured are also being brought here. A police team and the administration are present at the spot,” kullu MLA Sunder Singh Thakur told ANI.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the district administration to extend all possible help to the victims and their families.
