Bengaluru received heavy rainfall on Saturday but is unlikely to get any in the days to come, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reportedly said. 

Bengalureans were relieved as the summer showers brought some much-needed respite from the summer heat on the weekend. Bengaluru city recorded 3.6 mm of rainfall with thunderstorms from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm on Saturday, causing waterlogging and traffic congestion across several parts.

The traffic police kept alerting commuters about necessary diversions owing to waterlogging in several parts of the city. Many trees were uprooted as the showers were accompanied by gusty winds. At least 19 flights were diverted to other destinations due to the adverse weather. A negligible downpour was recorded in the city on Sunday as well.

However, no further rain is expected in Karnataka's capital city for the next few days although the skies are likely to remain cloudy, the IMD said. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius while the minimum is likely to be around 22 degree Celsius. For the rest of the week, the maximum and minimum temperatures as said to be 33 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively. 

"Partly cloudy sky" is likely to cover Bengaluru's skies until March 28, Friday, in both Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural, the weather department said.
