Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday lauded Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar for hosting all MPs from the state for a dinner discussion.
The dinner was hosted at the Kerala House in New Delhi on Tuesday.
"Greatly appreciate the gesture of Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar in hosting all Kerala MPs to a dinner discussion last night on the problems being faced by the state and the need for collective action," Tharoor wrote on X.
Noting that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan attended and spoke briefly at the discussion, Tharoor said this unusual gesture augurs well for the combined efforts to develop the state, beyond political differences.
Tharoor also shared selfies with the Governor and the chief minister.

According to reports, this is the first time a Governor has hosted a dinner discussion with MPs from the state.
The Thiruvananthapuram MP's appreciation of the Governor and selfie with the CM came days after he wrote a newspaper article praising the industrial policy of the CPI(M)-led government, ruffling feathers in the Congress Kerala unit.
Later, in a podcast interview with a newspaper, Tharoor said the Congress would have to sit in the opposition for the third consecutive term in Kerala if it did not try to expand its appeal.
Tharoor, a four-time MP from the state capital, even added that if the Congress party did not need his services, he had "other options", a remark which many media outlets interpreted as his intent to switch parties.
The Congress leader, however, later clarified that he meant the literary options and was not talking about political options.
