Bharatiya Janata Party Tamil Nadu President and party’s stalwart K. Annamalai is trailing in Coimbatore to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Ganapathy Rajkumar.

As of 9.30am, DMK candidate Rajkumar has polled 25,558 votes and leads by a margin of 12,663 votes. Annamalai is second and has polled 12,895 votes. Despite being a stronghold of the party, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) candidate is third with 8,572 votes.

In Tamil Nadu, at 9.30am, the DMK-led alliance is leading in 36 seats. Congress candidates M.K. Vishnuprasad and Sudha. R are leading in Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai constituencies respectively.

In Puducherry,  Congress candidate Ve. Vaithilingam is leading by 1,104 votes. BJP candidate A. Namassivayam is trailing.
