Voting in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections began on Tuesday morning. Phase 3 will cover 93 constituencies across 9 states and 2 Union Territories.
More than 17.24 crore voters are eligible to vote in the third round of the largest democratic process in the world. Around 14.04 lakh voters are aged above 85 while 15.66 lakh are persons with disabilities.
Around 8.85 crore are male voters and 8.39 crore are female.
Political parties have fielded more than 1,300 candidates in the third round of elections. Of these 120 are female.
Around 18.5 lakh election officials have been deployed across 1.85 lakh booths to ensure smooth voting process.
The first two phases saw elections across 189 seats out of the total 543 seats. The remaining four phases will be held on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. The votes will be counted on June 4.
