Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday dared Congress or any other political party to bring back Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Modi said statehood will be granted to Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a poll rally in Kashmir’s Udhampur, Modi said Assembly elections will be held soon in the state. “Jammu and Kashmir will get the status of statehood. You will be able to share your dreams with your MLA and your ministers,” he said.

The prime minister said he demolished the wall of Article 370 and buried it in the ground. Modi dared the Opposition to restore Article 370. “For the sake of power, they had built a wall of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to your blessings, Modi demolished the wall of Article 370. I have also buried the debris of that wall in the ground,” he said. Modi added People’s Democratic Party, National Conference and Congress want to take back J&K to the old days. “I challenge any political party in India, especially Congress, to announce that they will bring back Article 370. This country won't even look at them,” he said. Modi charged, “Here political party means of the family, by the family and for the family.”

Raking up Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the prime minister charged Congress leaders lived in bungalows and they turned their backs when it came to changing the tent of Ram Lalla. “Congress says Ram Mandir is an election issue for the BJP. I want to say that Ram Mandir was never an election issue, nor it will ever become an election issue. The struggle for Ram temple was going on even before the birth of the BJP. When foreign invaders destroyed our temples, the people of India fought to save their religious places. The leaders of Congress and its allies lived in big bungalows but when it came to changing the tent of Ram Lalla, they used to turn their backs,” he said.
