Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut charged that there is ‘Mafiaraj’ in Maharashtra and it has the blessings of Eknath Shinde government.

Raut told PTI, “Abhishek Ghosalkar had been a councillor. The way he was killed in Mumbai, it is a serious issue. There is 'gundaraj', 'mafiaraj' in Maharashtra. This 'mafiaraj' has the blessings of the Shinde government. Where is Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis?" 

Earlier, Raut charged Ghosalkar’s killer Mauris Noronha met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde four days ago. Raut tweeted, “Morish Noronha, who shot Abhishek Ghosalkar was at Varsha bungalow four days ago. The Chief Minister met him. Mauris was invited to join the Shinde Sena! Fadnavis is a complete failure as Home Minister! Resign!” 

The Mumbai Crime Branch will launch a probe into the murder of Abhishek Ghosalkar who was shot dead during a Facebook Live. Mauris Noronha, who shot Ghosalkar also killed himself. 

The incident happened on Thursday evening at Noronha's office in IC Colony in the northern suburb of Borivali (West). The footage of the incident which went viral showed Ghosalkar being shot in the abdomen and shoulder.

Police said 40-year-old Ghosalkar was the son of former MLA Vinod Ghosalkar, a loyalist of the Uddhav Thackeray-led party. He was also a former corporator and had personal enmity with the Noronha.
