Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who has been making incendiary provocation of violence against India, on Tuesday threatened to assassinate Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav on the Republic Day on January 26.

In a video message, Pannun also dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the Republic Day parade without security cover.

“I dare Modi, you come to Delhi without your security. If you are a popular leader, come to Delhi on R-Day without security and SFJ is going to avenge the assassination of Shaheed Nijjar by raising the Khalistan flag," he said in the video.

Nijjar, a Khalistani separatist leader, was killed by unidentified gunmen in Canada’s Surry, with the Justin Trudeau government alleging possible role of Indian agents behind the incident.

In the video, the Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) founder compared Mann with former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, who was assassinated in a bomb blast on August 31, 1995. The blast was carried out by the banned terror group -- Babbar Khalsa International.

In another video, Pannun gave a call to gangsters in Punjab to join the SFJ, asking them to get recognised as "shaheeds" (martyrs).

Pannun has been making open calls for violence against India ever since the US government alleged the hands of an Indian agent in a failed attempt to kill the Khalistan leader on the American soil.

Last month, called for the country’s “economic destruction” by targeting the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange from March 12. The day coincides with the 31st anniversary of the serial blasts in Mumbai in 1993.

In December, Pannun had exhorted the “Muslims of Uttar Pradesh” to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he came to Ayodhya to inaugurate a new airport and unveil many other developmental projects.

An NIA Special Court had issued non-bailable warrants against him in February 2021 and he was declared a 'Proclaimed Offender' in November 2022.

In September this year, the National Investigation Agency had confiscated his house and land in Amritsar and Chandigarh.
