2 Telugu students found dead in Connecticut: What we know so far

Nikesh hailed from Srikakulam while Dinesh was from Wanaparthy

In an unfortunate incident, two Indian students were found dead  in their lodging in the United States, only weeks after leaving their homes. The news of their demise came out when the kin of one of the victims were contacted by his neighbours on Saturday.

The late duo were identified as Nikesh (21) native to Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh and G Dinesh (22) who hailed from Wanaparthy in Telangana.

Dinesh reportedly travelled to Hartford in USA's Connecticut for higher studies on December 28, 2023. Nikesh flew down a few days later. The two got in touch through mutual friends and became roommates.

According to Dinesh's family members, they have nio information regarding his cause of death. "Dinesh's friends who live in a nearby room called us on Saturday night and informed us about his death and his roommate's. We have no clue as to how he died," a family member of the late Telangana youth was quoted as saying by PTI on Monday.

A member of Dinesh's family noted that they have sought the help of Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to bring back Dinesh's mortal remains.

Wanaparthy MLA Megha Reddy has also chipped in to help bring back Dinesh's body. He called on the family members of the deceased student and comforted them.

Dinesh's family reportedly added that they are not in touch with Nikesh's relatives. Neither does Srikakulam district administration does not have any information on the student yet.

Srikakulam Police Special Branch DSP K Balaraju noted that even the district collectorate did not receive information on Nikesh or his family members.
