Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lashed out at the Ashok Gehlot during a rally in Rajasthan, saying the Congress government ruined the state during its five-year stint.

Addressing a rally in Chittorgarh, Modi said, "Rajasthan tops the list when it comes to crime, riots, atrocities against women, Dalits and backward classes."

The PM claimed that he feels pain when atrocities against daughters take place anywhere in the country, alleging that the Congress has made this a tradition in Rajasthan.

Taking a dig at the infighting between the rival camps led by the CM and Sachin Pilot, Modi said Gehlot was busy saving his chair while half of the Congress leader were trying to unseat him.

Modi claimed that Gehlot had already "accepted defeat", pointing out that the CM asked BJP no to stop schemes initiated by the Congress if the NDA alliance wins the upcoming elections.

“Gehlot knows that the countdown of the Congress government has started. He in a way has congratulated the BJP by publicly requesting that the schemes should not be stopped. I assure you that BJP will not stop any scheme of public interest but will try to improve it. This is Modi's guarantee,” Modi said.

The PM also promised that if BJP comes to power in the state, the new government will take action against the alleged paper leak mafia and the culprits will be given the "harshest punishment".
