Gangster Tillu Tajpuriya killed by rivals inside Tihar jail

Prison officials said the attack happened Tuesday morning

Gangster Tillu Tajpuriya, an accused in the Rohini court shootout, was murdered by rivals inside Tihar jail on Tuesday morning. Prison officials said the attack happened around 6.30 am. 

Though Tillu, along with another injured undertrial prisoner, was rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. 

Tillu was reportedly attacked by rival gang members Yogesh Tunda, Deepak Teetar, Riyaj Khan and Rajesh. The men broke the iron grills of their ward on the first floor of jail no 8 before attacking Tillu who was lodged in a ground-floor ward of Jail no 9.

"This morning around 7 am, information was received from DDU Hospital regarding two undertrial prisoners who were brought to the hospital from Tihar Jail. One of them, Sunil alias Tilu was brought in an unconscious state. He was declared brought dead later. Another person, Rohit is undergoing treatment and is out of danger," Akshat Kaushal, additional DCP west district, Delhi Police was quoted by Hindustan Times. 

Tillu is an accused in the murder of Jitender Maan alias Gogi that occurred at Rohini courts complex in 2021. Gogi, a gangster with over 19 criminal cases against him, was being produced before the court on September 24 when two gunmen disguised as lawyers gunned him down.
