Amid the Opposition's demand for Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Adani-Hindenburg row, Industrialist Gautam Adani met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar on Thursday.

Adani visited Pawar at his residence in south Mumbai. According to sources, the meeting lasted for nearly two hours, reported PTI.

In the row over Adani-Hindenburg report, Pawar had extended his support to the Adani group earlier this month and had criticised Hindenburg Research's report.

Pawar had said that he favoured a Supreme Court committee to probe allegations against the Adani group since the ruling BJP would have a majority in the JPC based on numerical strength in Parliament.

However, Pawar said that NCP will not go against the Opposition's stand, seeking JPC probe into the allegations against Adani group, for the sake of unity.

SC had ordered for setting up of a six-member committee headed by a former apex court judge to look into various regulatory aspects for stock markets, including the recent Adani group shares crash triggered by Hindenburg Research's fraud allegations.

Ranging from fraudulent transactions to price manipulation, the Hindenburg Research had made several allegations against Adani. While the Adani Group has refuted the allegations raised against it saying it complies with all laws and disclosure requirements.
