CBI arrests Andhra CM's uncle Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy in murder case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday arrested Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, an uncle of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in connection with the murder of former MP Vivekananda Reddy.

According to the officials, the investigation of the case is proceeding.

Vivekananda was the brother of the late Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and uncle of Jagan Reddy. On March 15, 2019, he was found dead at his residence in Pulivendula, weeks before the state assembly elections.

A special investigation team (SIT) was formed to probe the case, however it was handed over to the CBI in July 2020. A chargesheet was filed in the murder case in October, 2021.

Reportedly, Vivekananda was seeking ticket for himself to contest the parliamentary elections from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency.
