Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched an all-out attack on the opposition parties, accusing them of joining hands to protect the corrupt and malign the probe agencies. Addressing an event after inaugurating an extension of the BJP headquarters in Delhi, Modi said whenever action is taken against those involved in corruption, these parties will start targeting the probe agencies and raise questions against the courts.

"Agencies are being attacked when they take action, questions are being raised in courts. Some parties have started 'Bhrashtachari Bachao Abhiyan'," the prime minister said in a sharp dig at the 'Save Democracy' march organised by the Congress against the government.

The prime minister's scathing attack on the opposition came days after 14 parties moved the Supreme Court alleging that the government was misusing agencies like the CBI and the ED to target BJP's political opponents. The court will hear the case on April 15.

Modi said the BJP's anti-graft movement has shaken the roots of corruption and those involved in this malpractice. "Under PMLA (law against money laundering) during the Congress rule, a total of 5,000 crore was confiscated. But under the BJP, we have confiscated about 1.10 lakh crore," he claimed.

The prime minister further said the BJP has emerged as the only pan-India party amidst family-run political outfits in the country as it worked on the ground with people braving all odds, instead of finding faults with its rivals and playing the blame game.

“Among the family-run political parties, BJP is a political party which gives opportunities to the youth. Today in many states we have more than 50 per cent of the votes. Today from North to South, from East to West, BJP is the only Pan-India party. In North East, we have a coalition government in two states and one with the majority. In Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, our party is getting stronger at the district and booth levels," he said.

He attributed the BJP's rise from a small political outfit to the world's biggest one to the dedication and sacrifices made by party workers.

"Today, BJP is not just the world's largest party, but also India's most futuristic party. Our sole target is making the developed and advanced India for the future,” Modi said.
