Big Boss contestant Archana Gautham has alleged that she was 'threatened with death' by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi's personal assistant. Sandeep Singh has been booked on the complaint filed by Archana's father Gautam Budh.

Archana, who was a Congress candidate in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, had reportedly participated in the party's plenary session in Raipur last month where she was allegedly threatened by Sandeep Singh. The accused allegedly used caste-based slurs against her.

In the complaint filed with the Meerut Police, Archana Gautam's father Gautam Budh said his daughter attended the Congress general convention at the invitation of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. There, she sought time from Sandeep Singh to meet Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. "But, he refused to introduce her to Priyanka Gandhi. He also used casteist words and indecent language while talking rudely to Archana. Singh also threatened to kill her," he alleged.

Meerut police have filed an FIR against Singh in this connection under sections 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and under sections 3(1)(d) and 3(1) of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Archana also appeared on a Facebook live against Sandeep Singh, stating that he threatened to get her arrested. "I don't understand why they are keeping such people who are gnawing on the party. The messages from many workers like me do not reach Priyanka Gandhi because of Sandeep Singh," she said.

Archana has also written a letter to Home Ministry seeking security. According to her father, she had been living in fear ever since and wanted the city administration to assure the safety of his daughter.

Archana, from Hastinapur constituency in Meerut, won just 1,519 votes (0.66 per cent of total votes) in her debut election. BJP's  Dinesh won the seats with more than 1.07 lakh votes while Samajwadi Party candidate Yogesh Verma received 1 lakh votes.
