Security cover near BRS MLC K Kavitha's house has been beefed up ahead of her questioning in connection with the 'Delhi excise policy scam' on Sunday. Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, was named by the Enforcement Directorate in a remand report filed in a Delhi court on the alleged scam.

While barricades have been put up near her house in Banjara Hills by the police, the party leadership has also reportedly instructed workers not to unnecessarily gather at the residence.

This comes as several posters with the slogan "daughter of fighter will never fear" were seen in Hyderabad. "We are with Kavithakka", read the posters.

Last Tuesday, the CBI contacted Kavitha informing her that the team would visit her residence in Hyderabad on December 11 for an "examination" and asked her to confirm her availability on the said date and time. She had then replied to the CBI authorities that she would be available at her residence on December 11.

The investigating authority had earlier summoned her on December 6 in connection with the case, but Kavitha sought a deferment of summons to anytime between December 11 and 15 (except 13) because of her preoccupied schedule.

She has also informed the agency that she has gone through the contents of the FIR copy as well as the complaint available on the website in connection with the case but failed to spot her name anywhere.

The CBI on November 25 filed its first charge sheet in the case against seven accused. This is after ED said in the remand report filed on one of the accused -- Amit Arora -- in a Delhi Court that "as per the investigation carried out so far, Vijay Nair, on behalf of leaders of AAP has received kickbacks to the tune of at least Rs 100 crore from a group, called South Group (controlled by Sarath Reddy, Ms K Kavitha, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy) by various persons including Amit Arora."

Kavitha had earlier expressed her willingness to face any probe concerning the case, stating the allegations against her and party leaders were "low-level politics."

However, Kavitha lashed out at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the same, stating that the "ED arrives before the PM" in any state where the elections are happening.

"You cannot win elections using your central agencies," she added. "We state that we will face any kind of inquiry. If the agencies come and ask us questions we will certainly answer. But tarnishing leaders' images by giving selective leaks to the media, people will refute it," Kavitha told reporters.
