AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged the people to vote for a party that works for people rather than creating hurdles.

The chief minister cast his vote at the polling booth in Civil Lines here along with his parents, wife and children. "People should vote for the party that's honest and works. For those who focus on cleanliness of the city and not those who keep creating hurdles," he told reporters after casting his vote.

Earlier the day, he had appealed to vote for a clean and beautiful Delhi. "Today is voting for making a neat and clean and beautiful Delhi, voting for forming a corruption-free government (establishment) at the municipal corporation.I appeal all the Delhi citizens to do go for voting to form an honest and performing government at the MCD," Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.

He also urged people to vote for an honest party and decent people.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also asked people to vote for work, not for people who are responsible for making Delhi a dumping yard

"I appeal to 2.5 crore people of Delhi to step out of their houses and vote today so that we can work for you. People have made up their minds to elect the Aam Aadmi Party in the municipal corporation," Sisodia told reporters at his residence.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Ajay Maken, who cast his vote along with his wife Radhika Maken, said people should see the candidates and vote accordingly. "Congress candidates are good and people should vote for the candidate which will be available for them after polls," Maken told reporters.

BJP leader and former health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan too expressed confidence that BJP would retain power. "I have full confidence that a large number of people from Delhi will cast their votes. Under the leadership of PM Modi, BJP has taken the country to new heights, I hope people vote accordingly. Delhi has seen the work of BJP in the last 15 years," he added.
