More bone chilling details of the brutal murder of a young woman in the national capital emerged on Tuesday with police claiming that the accused, Aftab Amin Poonwala, had brought another woman to his apartment when the victim's severed body parts were still in his apartment.

Police are investigating whether Aftab had brought more women home and whether any of them had any role in the murder. They investigation team may also ask the dating app 'Bumble' for details of his profile.

Just 15-20 days after the murder of Shraddha Walker, Aftab met another woman on the dating app and brought her home frequently, police said.

Aftab, 28, allegedly strangled his live-in partner and sawed her body into 35 pieces which he kept in a 300-litre fridge for almost three weeks at his residence in South Delhi's Mehrauli before dumping them across the city over several days. The accused was arrested on Monday, almost six months after the crime took place on May 18.

Aftab met Shraddha on 'Bumble' and started dating each other. They together worked at a call centre in Mumbai before moving to Delhi's Mehrauli earlier this year due to their families' objection to their relationship. The couple were allegedly engaged in frequent arguments after she pressurized him to marry her. On May 18, the altercation escalated and Aftab smothered her.

Meanwhile, it is also learnt that Aftab had visited the housing society in Vasai in Palghar district of Maharashtra a fortnight ago to help his family members shift to Mumbai.

"Aaftab Poonawala had visited Unique Park Housing Society in Vasai around 15 days back to help his family members who shifted from the society to Mumbai," a housing society member told PTI.

The society member recalled that Aaftab spoke normally during his visit.
