While addressing a rally in Telangana during his second-day visit to the southern states on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi hits out at the state Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. The state needs 'people first, not family first' governance, said PM Modi.

The PM's statement comes ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections in the state, where the BJP is seeking to challenge the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS.

In an apparent gesture, Modi without naming anyone criticised the ruling TRS for spreading ' blind superstition'.

PM Modi accused the state government of hindering the Centre's development schemes as well. "The abuse of people of Telangana will not be tolerated," he said.

"In recent times, whatever bypolls were held, the message is loud and clear that the sunrise is not far. Darkness will vanish. Lotus will bloom everywhere in Telangana," Modi said.

"The party on which the Telangana people had a lot of faith, the same party betrayed Telangana," he added.

"Now Telangana people want a government that works for all the families of Telangana instead of a single family," Modi said indirectly referring to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. "They want a BJP government," Modi added.

The manner in which people of Munugode have shown their trust in BJP is unprecedented. I saw how BJP workers brought the entire Telangana govt to one Assembly seat. It shows that you have people's blessings and your handwork is bearing fruits, said PM Narendra Modi

Modi landed here this afternoon to dedicate to the nation a fertilizer plant at Ramagundam in the state, besides inaugurating and laying foundation stone for multiple development projects.

Ahead of the PM's visit, banners and flex boards with the words 'Modi, No Entry to Telangana' were seen in various parts of Hyderabad including Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills.
