The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday sacked four employees including Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahuddin's son and wife of Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta Karate who is in NIA custody for terror funding.

Salahuddin, who is in his 70s, is based in Pakistan. According to sources, his son who has been sacked works in the entrepreneur development department.

Karate's wife, Assabah Arjumand Khan, is a 2011 Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officer. She was posted in the Rural Development department. She has allegedly been supporting JKLF.

The Jammu and Kashmir government led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been regularly sacking employees for involvement in anti national activities by invoking Article 311 of the Constitution of India. Sub clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of the Article 311 provides that in the interest of the security of the state, it is not expedient to hold inquiry before the removal or dismissal of a civil servant, if the President or Governor, as the case may be, is satisfied.

Last year the J&K government sacked Anees-ul-Islam, son of Altaf Ahmad Shah alias Fantoosh, son-in-law of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a leading separatist who died last year. Fantoosh is in NIA custody on charges of terror funding.

After Article 370 removal, the J&K government regularly sacks employees with separatist links on the basis of reports from police’s intelligence wing.
