Accusing coordinator and former Chief Minister O.Pannerselvam of being in relationship with DMK, AIADMK's interim general secretary Edappadi K.Palaniswami called OPS selfish, disloyal to party.
Addressing party cadres after being chosen as the interim general secretary of the party, Palaniswami charged, “OPS is selfish; if he doesn't get a post, he doesn't let others to have the post too.” He alleged that the former coordinator of the party was in relationship with the DMK.
“OPS and I sent invites for the general council meeting. Later, OPS moves Court demanding stay against the meeting. Would any party leader try to stop meeting of his own party? While Panneerselvam was coordinator, his son, Theni MP O.P.Raveendranath met with DMK CM and appreciated the government, Palaniswami charged.
Palaniswami said that he never wished to be CM or for any other party post. He claimed that senior party leaders met with OPS several times and tried to convince about having single leadership for the party, but he never heeded to those requests. Palaniswami charged that OPS' mask has come off.
He alleged that while general body meeting is happening, OPS barged into party headquarters with rowdies, took away files, computer devices from the office. Palaniswami said that party suffered due to dual leadership.
Criticising the DMK government, Palaniswami said that law and order situation has worsened in Tamil Nadu. AIADMK would return to power, Palaniswami said.
