The Enforcement Directorate, on Wednesday, accepted Congress president Sonia Gandhi's request to postpone her appearance before the agency in the National Herald case by a few weeks.

The agency has granted her four weeks time to appear for questioning. She was earlier asked to appear before it on Thursday (June 23).

She had requested time, saying she is still recovering from Covid-19. She was admitted to the hospital on June 12, days after she tested positive on June 2.

She was discharged from hospital on June 20.

Sonia Gandhi had earlier been scheduled to appear before the ED on June 8 but had sought more time from the probe agency in view of her Covid-19 infection. The agency had then issued a fresh summons.

Rahul Gandhi has been questioned by the ED for 50 hours over five days in connection with the same case.
