Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal responded to his party's spectacular performance in the Punjab assembly polls on Thursday with a simple tweet.

Sharing a picture of himself with AAP CM candidate for Punjab Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal wrote “Many congratulations to the people of Punjab for this revolution.”

Mann is headed for a massive win in Dhuri constituency. At 12pm, he led Dalvir Singh Goldy of the Congress by nearly 35,000 votes. Mann is the only CM candidate who is leading in Punjab as incumbent Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi (Bhadaur and Chamkaur Sahib) and Akali Dal's Sukhbir Singh Badal (Jalalabad) are trailing. Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is trailing AAP's Jeevan Jyot Kaur in a tight fight in Amritsar East, where Akali Dal's Bikram Singh Majithia is also contesting. Akali Dal patriarch Parkash Badal is trailing in Lambi against an AAP candidate by nearly 9,000 votes, while former chief minister Amarinder Singh is trailing in Patiala Urban by over 13,000 votes against AAP's Ajit Pal Kohli.

AAP co-in charge for Punjab Raghav Chadha praised the 'pair' of Kejriwal and Mann. Speaking to party supporters, Chadha was quoted by ANI as saying “Punjab has proven that it likes the Arvind Kejriwal-Bhagwant Mann pair, and no other party's pair... all other parties tried to defame us and called Kejriwal Ji a terrorist, but public proved that he is a 'shikshak-wadi'.”

Referring to the road ahead, Chadha said an AAP government would work to curb the state's drug problem. He said “Punjab will not be known as 'Udta Punjab' from now onwards, but 'Uthta Punjab'... all the credit goes to AAP workers, they didn't see day or night, summer or winter, and continued working for the party. AAP will work for everybody progressively.”

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia declared “Punjab has accepted Kejriwal's model of governance. It has gained recognition at the national level. People in the entire country will seek this model of governance.”
