Goa is a vacation spot for Gandhi family, says Amit Shah

Asks people to choose between BJP's 'Golden Goa' and 'Gandhi parivar ka Goa'

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is in poll-bound Goa on Sunday for one-day assembly election campaign, claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi suffering from Modi-phobia.

Addressing a gather in Ponda, the BJP leader said for the Gandhi family, Goa is just a vacation spot, and claimed that the BJP brought development to the state. "We raised state's budget from Rs 432 crore (2013-14) to Rs 2,567 crore ( in2021). Former Digambar Kamat did nothing on infrastructure development. We did what we promised."

Shah was campaigning for party candidate and former Goa CM Ravi Naik, who had recently joined the BJP after quitting the Congress.

He asked the people of the state to choose between BJP's 'Golden Goa' and Congress's 'Gandhi parivar ka Goa', and said development of small states is Narendra Modi government's priority.

Shah said political parties from other states contesting assembly polls in Goa can't form government in the state, only BJP can do it. Hitting out at the Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Nationalist Congress Party for contesting the Goa elections, Shah said these parties have entered the fray just to expand their base or get national recognition.

In Goa, the home minister is also expected to participate in a door-to-door campaign. He will also attend a public meeting in Vasco.

The BJP has fielded its candidates in all the 40 assembly constituencies in Goa.
