Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed confidence that the Congress party will win the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Bhagel, one of the observers of the Congress for the UP polls, said the party has become strong in the state under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi.

“Shocking results will come. Days are gone for UP CM Yogi Adityanath,” he said.

The Congress leader, who offered prayers at Bankey Bihari temple in Mathura, said Lord Krishna was the biggest politician who fought for truth.

"Lord Krishna is the biggest politician who fought for truth, we've all learnt politics from him,” Bhagel was quoted as saying by ANI.

He said the party was getting great support on the ground as it had fought for the farmers, workers and women.

“Under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi, the organisation has become strong and has fought for the farmers, workers and women. There is great support on the ground for Congress. We are complying with the guidelines of the ECI. We are doing door to door campaign. We are adhering to the guidelines of the commission,” Bhagel told the news agency.

UP goes to polls in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. The counting will take place on March 10.
