West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was taken to state-run SSKM hospital in Kolkata after she suffered injuries during an election campaign in Nandigram on Wednesday evening. According to health officials, a team of five senior doctors is treating Banerjee who sustained injuries on one of her legs.
The Trinamool Congress supremo alleged that she was pushed by four-five men during the poll campaign outside a temple in the Reyapara area. She said there was no local police personnel present at the spot when the incident happened and alleged that it was a “conspiracy”. The incident has also triggered a security scare as Banerjee enjoys Z-plus security.
"Some people deliberately did it. Of course, it is a conspiracy. There were no local policemen around me, neither the district police superintendent was present at the spot," Banerjee alleged.
