IAS couple Tina Dabi, Athar Khan file for divorce in Jaipur

The inter-faith marriage of the UPSC toppers had made headlines in 2018

IAS couple Tina Dabi and Athar Khan, whose wedding in 2018 grabbed national attention, have filed for divorce with mutual consent in a family court in Jaipur, according to media reports. Both of them are IAS officers of the 2016 batch and serve in the Rajasthan cadre.

Interestingly, Dabi was the top rank holder in 2015 UPSC civil services examination in which Khan came second. The duo had started dating during their training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration in Mussoorie and subsequently got married in 2018. 

Khan, who is a year older than Dabi, is from South Kashmir. Dabi hails from Bhopal and both her parents are in the Indian Engineering Services.

She studied Political Science at Lady Shri Ram College. Khan is a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

The duo had made headlines as they received both appreciations and criticisms for their inter-faith marriage. Their wedding reception was attended by Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, the then Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. 

The duo has unfollowed each other on Instagram. Dabi has removed 'Khan' from her surname on social media.

Currently, Dabi is the CEO of Zila Parishad n Sriganganagar and Athar is working as the CEO, Zila Parishad, Jaipur.
