About a week after the BJP-led coalition government in Manipur was rocked by resignations of three BJP MLAs and four ministers of its ally, the National People's Party, the crisis seems to have passed.
NPP chief and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told news agency ANI on Thursday that the four NPP ministers who had resigned would "withdraw their resignations and support the government led by BJP's N. Biren Singh".

Rajat Sethi, an adviser to Biren Singh, tweeted a photo of NPP MLAs meeting Manipur Governor Najma Heptullah on Thursday to "withdraw support from Congress and extend support back to CM @NBirenSingh".
The announcement by Sangma came after he met Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief J.P. Nadda on Wednesday.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP's trouble-shooter and convenor of the North East Democratic Alliance, which comprises of the BJP and its allies in the northeastern states, took an NPP delegation for a meeting with Shah.
"NPP delegation led by Sangma Conrad and Dy Chief Minister of Manipur Y Joy Kumar Singh met Home minister Amit Shah today in New Delhi. Both BJP and NPP will continue to work together for the development of Manipur," Sarma tweeted after the meeting.
The NPP and other dissident MLAs had been demanding removal of Biren Singh, accusing him of working in an "autocratic" way and not addressing the issues raised by them.
Meanwhile on Thursday, Ram Madhav, the BJP's in-charge for the northeastern states, told ANI, "The government in Manipur is very stable. We have the required support of the legislators. The government is ready to prove its majority on the floor of the Assembly anytime."
Madhav claimed, "They have submitted their resignation and voted against our Rajya Sabha candidate. Yesterday night we got to know through social media that they reach out to central leadership and wanted to support the government again." However, he added the NPP legislators should withdraw the resignation letters sent to the governor.
