A two-and-a-half-year-old was found dead in a bed compartment. His mother put him there so that she could elope with her lover. In the incident that took place in Burail, Chandigarh, the child's father Dashrath an electrician by profession initially thought that they had gone to his in-laws' house.
But he came to know that the child was in the compartment after he contacted his wife. A glove was found stuffed in the toddler's mouth, which seems was intended to gag him. The incident has shocked the entire neighbourhood.

A case of murder has been registered against the child's mother at Sector 34 police station and further investigation is underway. Whereabouts of the mother are currently unknown.
