Jolly Thomas, accused in the murder of six from a family at Koodathayi in Kozhikode district, had sent a message to Shaju after murdering his wife Sily, reported Manoramaonline. "Everything is clear," Sily messaged Shaju, reported the publication. After his wife Sily and daughter Alphine's passing, Shaju had married Jolly. According to the report, Jolly held a special grudge for Sily since the latter had raised questions on multiple occasions about the nature of the duo's relationship. Manoramaonline reported that Sily was murdered after her daughter Alphine.

Sily was allegedly poisoned to death in 2016. Her two-year-old daughter Alphine too died under mysterious circumstances in 2014. Jolly was named as an accused in the Sily murder case recently. Police sources said Jolly had allegedly given cyanide-coated pills to kill Sily at a dental clinic. Sily was the wife of Shaju, who was the cousin of Jolly's first husband Roy Thomas. Once both Sily and Roy were eliminated, Jolly married Shaju, according to the report.
