A man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly running a pro-Pakistan WhatsApp group in Bettiah town of West Champaran district of Bihar, police said.
Group admin Saddam Quraishi, 22, and others have allegedly posted several anti-India comments on his WhatsApp group ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
Superintendent of Police Jayant Kant said that Quraishi was arrested from Nazni Chowk on the charge of conspiring to disturb the unity and integrity of the country after receiving complaint from some local people.
The police also seized the mobile phone from which the WhatsApp group was being run. Quraishi has been booked under Section 153A, 153B and 298 of the Indian Penal Code.
