Your Aadhaar card is one of the most important documents you can. In 2018, The Supreme court upheld the constitutional validity of Aadhaar. This means that you will still require it to be linked to your PAN card, though it is no longer mandatory to be linked to your bank account or mobile number.

Spelling errors and other mistakes prevent one from linking the two. There are other reasons as well, for which the details of the Aadhaar need to be updated.

According to the UIDAI, if Aadhaar hasn’t been used for any transaction like linking it to the bank account in three continuous years, it can become inactive. In that case, it needs to be updated.

If you ever change your address, your name after marriage, your mobile number or wish to update your data policy with the UIDAI, you will need to follow the following steps you update your details on your Aadhar card.
