The Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Certificate board results for class 12 were released today at 9:30am.
The results are available at the official website, http://tnresults.nic.in. Students will need to enter their date of birth and roll numbers to access the results. Results will also be sent to registered students via SMS.
If the website goes down, you can also find links on the official site dge.tn.nic.in. In addition, Exam Results also has the results, although you will have to enter your mobile number and email id as well in order to access them.
The exams are taken by nearly nine lakh students across Tamil Nadu. According to NDTV, the pass rate for the board exams this year was 91.3 %. The previous year, it was 91.1%. Girls pass at a higher rate than boys, with a 93.64% pass percentage.
The pattern of the paper was different this year. Language papers that had two parts were combined into one, and the maximum marks was reduced from 1200 to 600.
In keeping with the new practice, the names of toppers will not be released by the board this year. This began in 2018 in a move to reduce the pressure on students.
Students can apply for a copy of the answer scripts between April 22 and 24, provided they pay a fee of Rs 275.
