Tamil Nadu will vote in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on April 18. The fight in the strategically important state—which sends 39 MPs to the Lok Sabha—will be between rival fronts led by the ruling AIADMK and the main opposition DMK.
The DMK had announced an alliance with the Congress, MDMK of Vaiko and smaller parties called the Secular Progressive Alliance, while the AIADMK has tied up with the BJP, PMK, DMDK of Vijayakant and smaller parties.
