President Kovind to inaugurate Arya Samaj convention tomorrow

President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate a four-day-long global convention of the Arya Samaj, the International Arya Mahasammelan 2018, on Thursday at Delhi.

This is the 11th such international Arya Mahasammelan since 2006, according to the Arya Samaj. The International Arya Mahasammelan will be held at the Rohini Jayanti Park in the Rohini area of Delhi.

In addition to Kovind, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat, Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad, RSS leader Indresh Kumar and other prominent politicians are expected to attend the International Arya Mahasammelan. Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest on the closing day.

The Arya Samaj declared representatives from 32 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and North America will attend the International Arya Mahasammelan.

The Arya Mahasammelan is touted as being a platform for the Arya Samaj to project its views on major caste-related issues and problems concerning backward sections of society. The convention also aims to spread a message of human welfare originating from the Vedas, promote universal brotherhood and ensure safeguarding of social morals.

One of the highlights of the Arya Mahasammelan will be a mass yagna attended by at least 10,000 devotees.
