After the recent arrest of a BSF jawan, Achutanand, who was deceived for information, shocking revelations came to light that the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) has confounded about 150 youths from Delhi and UP to gather classified information. These youths have been targetted through social media like Facebook Whatsapp etc., with the help of fake ids.

This modus operandi came to light during the investigation by the ATS (Anti Terror Squad) at Uttar Pradesh.

According to ATS sources, these youths are being given some monetary incentives in lieu of their services. This is a shocking trend even for central investigating agencies.

These youth are asked to give the pictures of important defence installations situated in cantonment and other vital information about name of the unit deployed, number of personnel etc.

The ATS has gathered ample information about this and has been confirmed by the ATS IG, Aseem Arun. According to Arun, when the matter was prodded further after of the BSF jawan, more details came to light. The ATS has also shared inputs with the military intelligence in this connection.

Arun said initially a person got a friend request on Facebook from one Sonu Kaur, who said that she is a reporter and asked this person to send some pictures of cantonment area of Meerut. Then became a routine and the person realized that he was being deceived. He informed military personnel first, who in turn took the help of ATS, Uttar Pradesh. However ATS refused to reveal the name and identity of the person.

Arun said this fact also can not be denied that the ISI is focusing on youth from small cities and deceiving them for vital information.

He also added that if anyone unknowingly was deceived like this he should not be sacred and report the matter to the ATS, who will help them out.
