The Central Board of Secondary Educations (CBSE), which conducts the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to medical colleges in India, has declared NEET 2018 results on Monday on its official website cbseneet.nic.in.  Students should keep their hall tickets handy to check NEET 2018 results. The results have been announced a day ahead of the scheduled date. 

This year, the cut-off for unreserved category candidates is 119. The cut-off for physical handicapped candidates from unreserved categories is 107, while the cut-off marks for all other categories is 96.


Kalpana Kumari, who secured a whopping 99.99 percentile with a score of 691 of 720, has emerged as the All India topper in NEET UG 2018. More than 7 lakh of 13 lakh students who appeared for NEET 2018 have qualified the test.

NEET cut-off this year is lower than last year.

Earlier in the day, Anil Swarup, Secretary, HRD Ministry had confirmed that the results would  be declared at 2 pm on Monday.

NEET 2018, the common entrance test conducted by the CBSE to find eligible candidates for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India, was conducted on May 6. NEET 2018 proved to be moderate in difficulty level for most of the students. There were 180 objective type questions of for maximum 720 marks. Students were satisfied that the questions were primarily from the CBSE’s prescribed syllabus. 

Most of the students found questions from physics the most difficult followed by chemistry and biology. Several students found the numerical in Physics, especially thermodynamics, tough. Meanwhile, Biology had more of human physiology questions which students found easy.

Last year, the qualifying percentage for the general category was 50 per cent, while the qualifying score was 131 out of 720 as per qualification percentile. The same score was 107 for OBC/ SC/ ST category, with a qualifying percentage of 40. For physically challenged students, the qualifying score was 118. 

This year, however, experts predict that the cut-off is likely to drop considering the difficulty level of NEET 2018 paper.

More than 13 lakh students enrolled for NEET 2018 across India this year. There are 7,46, 076 females and 5,80,648 males appearing for NEET 2018, in addition to one transgender candidate. NEET 2018 was conducted at 2,255 exam centres spread across 136 cities in the country. 

The CBSE had released the answer key, response sheet and code of test booklet on its official website cbseneet.nic.in on May 25.
