Rajinikanth's action-comedy sequel "Jailer 2" is now officially the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time after it hit the ₹800 crore milestone worldwide on Day 18. It's also the first Tamil film to cross both 700 and 800-crore milestones at the worldwide box office.

The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, demonstrated a strong third weekend. On its third Sunday, the net collection represented a 15.5% rise compared to the third Saturday domestic net collection.

As per trade portal Sacnilk, the Day 18 domestic net collection was registered at ₹11.20 crore compared to the ₹9.70 crore net earned on the third Sunday, from 8,906 shows.

Combined with the total overseas gross of ₹273.50 crore and the domestic gross of ₹533.75 crore, the worldwide gross has now surged past ₹807.25 crore. The domestic net total currently stands at ₹456.30 crore.

The original Tamil version is still the primary revenue contributor, with Day 18 alone generating ₹8 crore. The Hindi version follows with ₹1.75 crore, Telugu with ₹1 crore and Kannada with ₹45 lakh.

So far, "Jailer 2" has recorded over 3.08 crore footfalls, per data estimates. The film has been maintaining a consistent hold on a weekly and daily basis. Domestically, it grossed ₹338.23 crore in the first week and ₹114.99 crore in the second week.

The previous Tamil-language record-holder was Rajinikanth's own 2018 sci-fi epic, "2.0", directed by Shankar. It concluded its theatrical run with a worldwide gross of a little under ₹700 crore.

Notably, "Jailer 2" also surpassed the overseas record of "Pushpa 2" (₹271 crore).

With these numbers, "Jailer 2" is closely following a box office trajectory similar to Bollywood's "Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge", which currently holds the position of the highest-grossing Indian film of 2026. "Jailer 2" is now the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026.
