Sunny Deol has unveiled the official first look of his upcoming crime thriller, "Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak", on October 12, 2026. An intense motion poster teased the veteran actor in a raw, gritty, and weathered look, a cigarette dangling between his lips.

The poster, shared on Sunny Deol's official Instagram page, is accompanied by the caption: "Torn between Past and Present, He uncovers the TRUTH! Presenting Kamal Mukut's #SURYAA: From the End to the Beginning!"

This look is a markedly significant shift from his typical larger-than-life action roles. The actor is said to be essaying a deeply troubled character “caught between his past and present while uncovering an unresolved truth.”

Interestingly, Malayali film lovers noticed a familiar name under the director credit: M. Padmakumar. This naturally prompts the question: Is it a remake of the director's critically acclaimed investigative thriller, "Joseph"? Released in 2018, the film was penned by cop-turned-filmmaker Shahi Kabir. In the film, actor Joju George played a retired policeman investigating the disturbing details of a crime in the present, while dark events from his past continue to torment him.

The Malayalam thriller was a major commercial and critical success, earning Joju George a National Film Award (Special Mention) for his stellar performance.

"Joseph" has already been remade in other South Indian regional languages: Tamil ("Visithiran"), Telugu ("Sekhar"), and Kannada ("Ravi Bopanna").

The Hindi adaptation is officially slated for a theatrical release on November 20, 2026.

Sunny Deol is starring alongside Ravi Kishan ("Mirzapur: The Movie"), Pragya Jaiswal, and Jisshu Sengupta.

Sunny Deol was last seen in the blockbuster sequel "Batwara 1947." His upcoming releases comprise the highly anticipated "Ramayana - Part 1" and "Ramayana - Part 2."
