"The Vvaan - Force of the Forrest" has collected ₹87.66 crore worldwide in its first 16 days at the box office. The Hindi folk-fantasy thriller, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, recorded a notable recovery on Day 16, with 81.8% rise in single-day net.
The film earned ₹1 crore net in India on Day 16 across 1,583 shows, up from ₹55 lakh on Day 15. Its overseas gross collection remained steady at ₹15 lakh for the day.
According to the available box office figures reported by Sacnilk, "The Vvaan - Force of the Forrest" has collected ₹67.35 crore in India net earnings and ₹79.96 crore in India gross earnings. Its overseas gross collection stands at ₹7.70 crore, taking its total worldwide gross to ₹87.66 crore.
Despite its impressive opening week, "The Vvaan - Force of the Forrest" has struggled to maintain the same pace in its second week. The film collected ₹53.60 crore during its first week, benefiting from its regional folklore, supernatural theme and holiday timing. However, its collections dropped by 77.2% in the second week.
This sharp decline suggests the film attracted most of its core audience early in its theatrical run, particularly in Hindi-speaking and smaller city markets. As it entered its third week, the film's daily earnings slowed considerably, making further growth more challenging.
However, the 81.8% rise on Day 16 offers a small boost. Whether this increase could lead to a longer recovery will depend on audience interest and the film's performance in the coming days.
With its India net collection at ₹67.35 crore, "The Vvaan" is approaching the reported domestic lifetime net collection of Varun Dhawan's "Bhediya" (₹68.99 crore). It needs another ₹1.64 crore to cross that mark, making the milestone a realistic target if collections continue.
"Bhediya", starring Varun Dhawan, followed a pattern closer to "The Vvaan". It collected ₹42.05 crore in its first week before dropping by 69.4% to ₹12.85 crore in the second week. Although both films noted a significant slowdown, "The Vvaan" started from a higher opening-week base.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and TVF Motion Pictures, "The Vvaan – Force of the Forrest" follows Rishi, a rational city engineer, and his wife, Mamta, who visit their ancestral village in Bihar around Chhath Puja, and face a supernatural phenomenon as Rishi enters a forbidden forest protected by the goddess Vandevi.
