"Mirzapur: The Movie" is enjoying a strong run at the box office, with audiences turning out in large numbers during its opening weekend. On Day 2, the film collected an estimated ₹32 crore net from 11,256 shows in India. This took its total India net collection to ₹57.75 crore, while its India gross collection reached ₹69.30 crore. The film also performed well overseas, earning ₹6 crore on Saturday and taking its overseas gross total to ₹10.25 crore. Its worldwide gross collection has now reached ₹79.55 crore.
The film opened on Friday with an impressive ₹25.75 crore net collection. Its performance improved further on Saturday, with positive reviews and strong word-of-mouth helping it record a reported 20.4% jump. The second-day collection is estimated at around ₹31–32 crore net, showing that interest in the film is growing rather than slowing down.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the movie features the popular "Mirzapur" cast, including Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu. The big-screen adaptation of the hit OTT series has quickly crossed the ₹50 crore domestic net mark and is on course to cross ₹80 crore worldwide during its first weekend.
The film's opening has also exceeded industry expectations. Trade experts had initially predicted a first-day collection of around ₹18–20 crore. Instead, the ₹25.75 crore opening made "Mirzapur: The Movie" one of the biggest Hindi openings of 2026, placing it fourth behind major releases such as "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", "Toxic" and "Border 2".
Its strong performance has also affected other films in theatres. In particular, the movie has reportedly taken a significant share of the second-week business of Yash-starrer "Toxic", demonstrating the strength of the "Mirzapur" franchise.
The film's success is notable because it challenges the traditional idea that ₹25 crore-plus openings are mainly driven by established Bollywood superstars. Instead, the returning franchise characters and their loyal fan base have emerged as the film's biggest attraction.
Released on September 4 during the Janmashtami holiday weekend, "Mirzapur: The Movie" has benefited from favourable timing. With strong audience interest continuing, the film is well placed for a big Sunday and a potential ₹100 crore worldwide milestone.
