After reports said that 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' star Antarra Banerjee was arrested after a conflict on board a train escalated on Wednesday, August 12, her team came out with a statement clarifying that it was a case of mistaken identity.

The woman accused of stripping and attacking RPF personnel with a blade is one Antara Soham Banerjee, a model from Maharashtra's Thane, and not the 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' star.

What happened on the train?

The model had reserved a sleeper class ticket but chose to board the AC coach—which was the root cause of the incident. The 31-year-old artist was reportedly on her way to Surat for a shoot.

It is said that she refused to vacate the seat when the passengers assigned to the seat she had occupied arrived. As she decided to remain steadfast instead of listening to reason, the ticket collector (TC) was summoned, who in turn asked the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for help.

According to multiple reports, when RPF Assistant Sub-Inspector Yamini Kant Mishra and Constable Rajesh Kumar engaged her verbally as part of making her vacate the seat, Antara Soham Banerjee brought out a razor blade to attack them. After injuring ASI Mishra, she removed her own clothes inside the train, reports said.

Soon, she was forced to exit at Dahanu station and handed over to the Railway Police. The next morning, Borivali railway police took her into custody and booked her under sections of endangering security, assaulting government servants, and insulting officials.

Antarra Banerjee's statement

Antarra Banerjee's team clarified that their client is absolutely not related to the incident.

"It has come to our attention that several media publications have incorrectly used the photograph of actor Antarra Banerjee while reporting on an FIR concerning an entirely different individual. We wish to categorically clarify that Antarra Banerjee is not the person against whom the FIR has been registered and has no connection whatsoever with the matter being reported," the actor's team reportedly said in a statement, as per the Hindustan Times.
