After multiple delays and release date shifts, actor Yash and filmmaker Geetu Mohandas' "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups" seems to have, once and for all, locked a release date that, the makers say, is final. The gangster saga, which features Yash in dual get-ups, confirmed by the recent trailer and the new release announcement poster, arrives on 26 August 2026 (Wednesday). The film was originally supposed to be released alongside Ranveer Singh's "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" in March.

The team is looking to capitalise on the extended holiday weekend comprising Onam, Eid, Rakshabandhan, and Varamahalakshmi. Interestingly, August will also see releases from Dulquer Salman ("I'm Game"), Nivin Pauly's "Bethlehem Kudumba Unit", Suriya's "Vishwanath & Sons", and Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Khalifa".

"Toxic" is touted as a multi-generational epic spanning different eras that revolves around a fractured father-and-son relationship, strategic conflicts and intense power games. The female lead cast is a stellar ensemble featuring Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria. Malayali actors Sudev Nair and Surjith Gopinath are also part of the cast.

Shot in both Kannada and English for wider accessibility across the globe, "Toxic" will also roll out as a multi-language dubbed release in Hindi, Kannada, English, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. (Since Geetu Mohandas is a Malayali, we are expecting a good Malayalam dub.)

Produced by Yash's Monster Mind creations and KVN Production, "Toxic" was shot by ace cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, with Ujwal Kulkarni as the editor, stunts by J.J. Perry ("John Wick"), and visual effects by DNEG.
