"Cocktail 2" has, in two days, emerged as a big box office success regardless of the negative-to-mixed responses. With a worldwide haul now past the Rs 50 crore, it is currently the fourth-highest Hindi-language opener of 2026. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, the film registered a strong two-day net domestic total of Rs 29.75 crore, according to Sacnilk data.

In two days, "Cocktail 2" has also beaten the two-day domestic net of the 2012 original "Cocktail" (Rs 23.18 crore), featuring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. The sequel's first-week total is on track to surpass the original film's entire week one haul of Rs 54 crore. It also marks Shahid Kapoor's third-highest opening-day collections of all time, sitting right behind "Padmaavat" and "Kabir Singh". It has also done better than his recent releases like "O'Romeo" and "Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya".

Despite the mixed critical reviews, the movie has been seeing strong evening and night occupancies (peaking at 42.46% on Saturday) in premium urban multiplexes across Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.

"Cocktail 2" scored a significantly higher opening day (Rs 13.50 crore) compared to Luv Ranjan's sequel "De De Pyaar De 2 (Rs 9.45 crore). It's also performing better than other romantic comedies like "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari" and "Param Sundari" during the two-day weekend.

Directed by Homi Adajania, "Cocktail 2" has a script by Luv Rangan. It revolves around a couple, Kunal (Shahid Kapoor) and Diya (Rashmika Mandanna), whose stable, long-term live-in relationship is put to the test when the latter, who has been lately feeling a sense of unfulfillment, asks her free-spirited friend Ally to flirt with Kunal during a vacation in Sicily. But when Ally begins to actually fall for Kunal, things get slightly complicated.
