After a 22-day run, "Karuppu" is officially the first Rs 300 crore club film of Suriya’s career. The RJ Balaji directorial crossed this major milestone, supported by steady domestic collections in Tamil Nadu and an impressive overseas performance. It is expected to outperform "Amaran" in terms of lifetime gross. The Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi starrer entered the coveted Rs 300 crore club in 19 days.

This milestone follows Suriya's first blockbuster to cross Rs 200 crore in India gross and over Rs 100 crore net within Tamil Nadu alone. The home state crossed a massive Rs 150 crore gross milestone during its third week. It continues to hold the lion's share of business, bringing in Rs 80 Lakhs on its 21st day.

Suriya is now the only actor outside of Rajinikanth, Vijay, Kamal Haasan, and the "Ponniyin Selvan" ensemble to anchor a Rs 300 crore global blockbuster.

As of Day 22, "Karuppu" netted Rs 190.18 crore domestically, as per box office tracking portal Sacnilk. In terms of domestic gross, it has collected Rs 219.85 crore so far. Overseas, the number has reached Rs 80.20 crore. All this takes the cumulative gross to Rs 300.05 crore.

"Karuppu" is now the 11th highest-grossing Tamil film of all time in terms of worldwide numbers. It has completely bypassed major blockbusters like Vijay starrers "Varisu" and "Mersal", which earlier occupied the 11th and 12th places.

"Karuppu" has also delivered an exceptional performance outside of its home territory. In Kerala, it has officially cemented itself as Suriya's highest-grossing film of all time. While collections are gradually slowing down as the film nears the end of its theatrical run, its regional performance has been incredibly lucrative. The film opened with a massive Rs 11.7 crore in Kerala in its first nine days alone.
