The Tamil instant blockbuster "Blast" has crossed the Rs 40 crore mark in 9 days, and Rs 27.89 crore in domestic net figures. The film’s India gross now stands at Rs 32.05. Overseas, it collected Rs 8 crore so far, as per Sacnilk figures.

Produced by AGS Entertainment on a modest Rs 18 crore reported budget, the film achieved a phenomenal return by breaking even within its first four days of release. The action-packed film features Arjun Sarja in the leading role, alongside prominent performances by Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan. This project marks the successful commercial debut for director Subash K. Raj.

The Tamil version remains the absolute powerhouse driving the film's box office numbers, completely eclipsing the Telugu dub. On Day 9, the Tamil version collected Rs 1.90 crore net (of the Rs 2.11 crore India total earned on the same day) across roughly 1,830 shows, maintaining a stable 22% – 25% weekday occupancy.

The cumulative Tamil domestic net stands at Rs 24.15 crore. The Telugu dubbed version brought in a meagre  Rs 0.21 crore net across roughly 210 remaining shows. The Telugu market has reportedly struggled with low occupancy (hovering between 10%–12%), bringing its total domestic net to just Rs 3.74 crore.

However, the movie is continuing to do well in Kerala — a massive secondary stronghold in the State — adding Rs 1.00 crore just on Day 8, significantly outperforming the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana territories.

The exceptional word-of-mouth buzz continues to help this movie, which has registered houseful shows during this weekend. It is expected to bring in more numbers on Saturday and Sunday. It is currently maintaining a daily business of above Rs 2 crore, which is a healthy sign.
