Following Marvel's Special Presentation feature "The Punisher: One Last Kill", the character, essayed to perfection by Jon Bernthal, will be returning once again as the instrument of retribution, Frank Castle, in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day".

But, wouldn't the character, who belongs more in an R-rated outing, feel awkward in a family-friendly adventure? Fans don't have to worry, says the friendly neighbourhood superhero himself.

Destin Daniel Cretton – along with Bernthal and Spidey himself, Tom Holland – has found ways to bring an authentic Punisher into Peter Parker’s world, without landing Brand New Day in hot water.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Tom Holland shared that the movie will stay true to Castle's character and that the team, headed by director Destin Daniel Cretton, found a way around it. “I know that there are concerns about taking a sort of R-rated character and putting him into one of these movies, but the way that we’ve designed the world around him feels very authentic to the Frank Castle we know,” said the actor who plays Peter Parker in a completely changed world, unlike the last time. “There are fun ways to get around the fact that he swears all the time and kills people.”

As for how the character would get along with Spidey, Bernthal says, “Frank Castle is perfectly at peace in a world of absolute darkness. He’s not looking for a buddy, he’s not looking for a friend, he’s not looking for a hand to pull him out of the hole that he’s in. He’s fine living in there. In fact, all he wants to do is dig deeper. I think, begrudgingly, Frank would tell you, if he had to be honest, he does care about Peter.”
