Although the wait continues in India, Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) is now streaming on Netflix and is available in Pakistan. Within a few hours, the Bollywood blockbuster became the number 1 trending movie on Netflix in the country, reports said.
According to Pakistani content creator Mavia Umar Farooqui, the Dhurandhar 2 craze was so intense that Netflix servers in Pakistan crashed for a while due to heavy traffic. Movie lovers who were eagerly waiting for the release of the film stayed up until midnight on May 13 to watch it, the content creator reportedly said.
"The server crashed because 'Dhurandhar 2' was released in Pakistan. People were waiting with their mobile phones for 'Dhurandhar 2' to become available. As soon as the movie was uploaded at midnight, they started streaming. Due to this, the Netflix server in Pakistan crashed for some time," TV9 Kannada quoted Mavia Umar Farooqui as saying. THE WEEK could not independently verify the claim. As things stand, the platform crashing due to an overload frenzy appears to be social-media speculation
Dhurandhar 2 was refused a theatrical run in the Gulf nations due to its political theme. The plot follows Ranveer Singh's Jaskirat Singh Rangi, aka Hamza Ali Mazari, an Indian agent who infiltrates the Lyari-based Pakistani underworld to destabilise and uproot cross-border terror networks.
It was earlier reported that the OTT version of the espionage-action thriller by Aditya Dhar will have a total runtime of around 3 hours and 52 minutes—three minutes longer than the theatrical version. It is expected to include previously unseen graphic violence, extended action sequences (such as beheading scenes), and uncensored dialogue and expletives that were earlier muted or chopped.
Easily the most anticipated Hindi film of the year, Dhurandhar: The Revenge was released on March 19 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It stars Singh alongside R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
With a global haul of nearly Rs 1,800 crore, Dhurandhar 2 has, since its release on March 19, 2026, overtaken the lifetime global earnings of almost all big-time Indian blockbusters, including Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1,788 crore), K.G.F: Chapter 2 (Rs 1,215 crore), and even its predecessor Dhurandhar (Rs 1,307 crore).
